Syria: Will bombing make it better?
Everyone and his dog seems to be weighing in with their opinions regarding what is to be done about Syria. Should the United States take military action? What should that military action be? What would be the consequences if we do not take any military action? Would our credibility in the world of international politics be irrevocably damaged? Those are some of the questions being asked, but are they the right questions? Ultimately, none of this is about the United States, although there are people in this country, many of them in political power, who try to make everything in the world about us. They insist that if we do not insert ourselves into every single issue that comes up, then we are weak and no one will ever listen to us again.
